The visuals are fucking AMAZING, and the last show wasn't officially mothership, but it was way chill and intimate and hard hitting. Plus the girl next to me was awesome! We made friends

And thus in under 12 hours I am getting on a plane to kick off my three day Skrill-straveganza. There is a long story behind how I ended up obtaining tickets to all three events, plus afterparty. My schedule looks sort of like this:

FRIDAY:
9:00AM - head to airport
11:00AM - get on plane to Montreal
12:00PM - hang out with bro Marie in Montreal for the day, explore the city
10:00PM - Skrillex Show @ Metropolis, Montreal

SATURDAY:
2:00AM - Go to Skrillex afterparty
2:00PM - Get on plane to Toronto
7:00PM - Skrillex Show @ Kool Haus, Toronto

SUNDAY:
10:00PM - Skrillex Show @ Hoxton, Toronto

This will be my first time seeing 12th Planet, Nadastron, Dillon Francis and JRabbit so I'm gonna try to concentrate/write about their performances.

I have my life cut out for me, whoops. I already went over this with his tour manager the Roadhog (rob hardy is a megabro) and he just said "Nah, we already have three actual stalkers who have assaulted people. Don't even worry."

Case in point: I am a legitimate supporter of the North American dubstep/brostep/moombahton/antigenre movement. Call him shit all you want, I think Skrillex had a good point in that Electronic isn't a genre, it's a platform. I know fuckall about actual music (and thus my opinion is valid or invalid as you want) but I really like the grassroots sort of thing that's happening with Dubstep (arriving a twisted, broken thing at its core) in North America. I love the feeling of bass in my bones. There's a lot of shit music in the genre out there, yeah, but doesn't that just make sure that the stuff that actually stands out good? I dunno. I'm just rambling.

I guess this is just an excuse to say how much I am enjoying Porter Robinson, Zedd, Datsik and Feed Me lately. It's strange to see my music taste expanding in front of my eyes. Here enjoy some links
